A full-day tour of chania greece

A full-day tour of chania’s Old Town would be an exotic mix of Venetian and Ottoman architecture endorsing this town with mostly architectural fortifications. The borders of the Old Town are the mostly destroyed old Venetian wall and bulwarks, surviving as the cradle of all the civilizations which were developed in the area. Walk around the whole Topanas area is generally very picturesque, with many narrow alleys and old charming buildings, some of which have been restored as hotels, restaurants, shops and bars. This makes it a lively and colourful place especially during the warm period and in the winter, it still remains a center of activities, especially for nightlife but in a more quiet and atmospheric way. Finally, you may wander around a very distinctive area of the Old Town….. the harbour itself and generally the seafront or "Akti" wherein….. Akti Tompazi, Akti Kountouriotou and Akti Enoseos or the marina all feature several historical buildings and a thriving nightlife……..on the……Greece Holiday Package!!!!!

Take some time off for the modern city is Nea Hora, meaning "New Town" which is a developing area, but also very ravishing with narrow old lanes leading to a small fishing harbour….. Other historical buildings in the area include the nineteenth-century’s Eleftherios Venizelos’s House, the old French school, the Church of Agia Magdalini, The “Palace”, the earlier house of of Prince George and the Church of Evangelistria. Part of the marine area of Halepa is called Tabakaria, where a unique architectural complex of old leather processing houses is situated. The district of Koum Kapi, which means "the Gate of the Sand",is situated beyond the walls at the eastern part of the old town, and was also one of the first places to be inhabited outside the fortification walls.
The indoor market or "Agora", a large building is on the edge of the old town and is popular with tourists and locals alike. Spare a day to choose some other important sites of the newer urban area….. such as the Court House, the Public Gardens, the Garden Clock-Tower, the Episcopal Residence or Bishop's residence, "Despotiko", built early nineteenth- century and the House of Manousos Koundouros, the Cultural Centre or "Pnevmatiko Kentro"….. the Church of Agios Nikolaos is Hania’s other remaining minaret, past a kafeneio or coffee house quite memorably attached to this church and towering over the church’s opposite end is a bell tower!

A stroll around the old harbour or Venetian Harbour is a must for any visitor to Hania…… pastel-coloured historic homes and businesses line the harbour, zig-zagging back into narrow lanes lined with shops. Hania’s Archaeological Museum is housed in the superb sixteenth-century Venetian Church of San Francisco that became a mosque under the Turks, a movie theatre and then a munitions depot for the Germans during World War II….it houses findings from different parts of the country and from several historical and prehistorical periods of the local history….. the Folklore Museum is another grand treasure box!
Theatrical plays, concerts and several exhibitions from Greek and foreign artists are organized either by the municipality or by individuals….and you could opt to visit a venue which hosts many of these events in a theater located in the east bulwark of the Old Town, known as "Anatoliki Tafros"…….on this…….Greece Holiday Package!!!!!

Stretch yourself in this country as it’s easy to understand how so many myths of gods and giants originated in this vast and varied landscape, with wide open skies and a sea speckled with islands, where days melt from one to the next, while you relish the white-sand and palm-fringed beaches. Greece offers endless activities and is a magnet for anyone who enjoys the great outdoors. Wander along cobbled, Byzantine footpaths, hike into volcanoes, watch for dolphins and sea turtles and cycle through lush forests, besides kitesurfing, diving and rock-climbing! Should it be said…..that…..be enthralled…… be passionate……or be Greek…….on this……..scintillating……..Greece Holiday Package!!!!!!!
